Have you ever wanted to smoke a doob with Willie and Merle? Most of you probably never will, but there is good news, you can spark a spliff while watching their new video, “It’s All Going To Pot”, and try to get so high you think you are there.
The song, penned by Jamey Johnson, Buddy Cannon and Larry Shell is the first single from the two icon’s new collaboration, Django & Jimmie, available June 2.
The titular “Django & Jimmie” track is an homage to a few of the pair’s musical influences, jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt and country legend Jimmie Rodgers. The album features a mix of fresh tracks and a few classics like Haggard’s “Swingin’ Doors” and Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright”.
The video, posted below, shows a studio session with Merle and Willie while recording the song and presumably imbibing in some of that sticky-icky.
Also be on the lookout for Willie’s new memoir It’s a Long Story: My life in stores May 5. So watch the video, read the book, and listen to the record but first head down to the local dispensary and stock up on your favorite variety of that magic salad. If you do not live in a place where marijuana is legal yet, no need to worry, I know a guy.
