George Strait “Classic Christmas” MCA Nashville

by Melissa Barnes, The Music City Muse

This album undoubtedly lives up to its name Classic Christmas. And personally speaking, I have never heard anything come from George Strait that was anything less than amazing. Strait adds his own special country twang on classics like “Silent Night,” “Jingle Bells” and “Deck the Halls.” His voice soars on his versions of “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and “We Three Kings.” Listening to this collection of holiday favorites I am reminded of Christmas’s spent at home with my folks, the smell of my mom’s amazing sugar cookies and all of the great things that make the holidays so special to me. Take this one along on Black Friday to listen to while you are stuck in traffic en route to the shopping malls. You’ll be reminded of what Christmas is really all about.
