Garth Hits 7 Diamond Status: Holds Free Concert To Thank Fans

garth-brooks-haslam-billOn Monday, Garth Brooks was named a Tennessee Ambassador  of Goodwill by Governor Bill Haslam. As an Oklahoma native, Garth considers Tennessee home…

I can’t thank Tennessee enough for taking me in as if I was one of their own and allowing me to chase a dream” Garth said while pointing at his 7 Diamond Status banner.

That’s right Garth Brooks reached a record-breaking 7 Diamond Certifications from the Recording Industry of America (RIAA), meaning each album sold at least 10 million copies.  He is the first artist ever in any genre to achieve this feat having previously been tied with The Beatles at 6.  The albums that have received Diamond Status are “No Fences”, “The Ultimate Hits Collection”, “Sevens”, “Garth Brooks”, “Ropin’ the Wind”, “The Hits” and “Double Live”; all of which have been recorded or produced in Nashville.

In honor of this monumental milestone Brooks has announced a free concert at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville as a “thank you” to fans.  The state sponsored celebration will be hosted by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.

To receive information on how to win tickets fans must follow the TDTD on their snapchat @Tennessee. There will be video screens along River Front Park in Nashville for fans who are  unable to win tickets to watch the show live.  Garth plans to play 7 acoustic songs at the show and wife Trisha is likely to appear. Garth is known for being so humble and doing these kind of shows in appreciation of his fans.  Last month he announced a partnership with SiriusXM launching The Garth Channel (channel 55) and hosted a free show at The Ryman for some lucky fans.

Brooks states he does not yet have a snapchat account but plans on getting one by the end of the week.  Currently fans are able to follow him on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter where he is quite active.  On Monday nights on Facebook Garth Hosts “Inside Studio G” from his home recording studio in Nashville.

At age 54 Garth Brooks seems to only be growing hotter as an artist.  He has sold more than 138 albums. Returning to the music business after a 15 year retirement stint to raise his 3 daughters, Garth has been welcomed back by fans with open arms.  He is currently on his world tour simply title “The Garth Brooks World Tour” selling out big arenas for days at the cities he stops in.

This tour has done 125 percent of what the last tour did, which speaks to the fans and embracing it and coming back,” manager Bob Doyle stated.

Brooks also has a yet-to-be-named album in the works which will be released November 11th as part of a 10-disc boxed set titled “Garth Brooks: The Ultimate Collection”, exclusively at Target.  Garth is currently nominated for Entertainer of the Year for 2016 by the CMA Awards; an honor he received 4 times previously in 1991, 1992, 1997 and 1998.
