Dwight Yoakam To Release New Album “Second Hand Heart” April 14th

Dwight Yoakam has announced the release of his newest album entitled, “Second Hand Heart.” The upcoming album will be released on April 14th, 2015. The album is available for pre-order by clicking HERE, and marks the multiple Grammy Award winner’s return to the Warner family.

Yoakam released a series of albums on Reprise Records beginning with his debut, “Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc.”, in 1986. The album arrived like a lightning bolt out of the blue in 1986, and not just because it shied away from the synth-driven sound of the time. If the Band served as fathers of Americana, then Dwight Yoakam definitely served as the cool cousin and he got it into plenty of adolescent trouble to prove it!

“Second Hand Heart” is produced by Yoakam himself and includes mixes by renowned engineer, Chris Lord-Alge, (“She,” “Believe,” and “The Big Time.”) The album will also feature two covers, Anthony Crawford’s “V’s of Birds” and the traditional “Man of Constant Sorrow.” Yoakam wrote the other eight songs on the album on his own.

“The album’s retro-billy title track rings with infectious jangly guitars, a swaggering beat and Yoakam’s instantly recognizable twang.” Rolling Stone said of the new album.  Click HERE to listen to “Second Hand Heart.”
