Donica Knight Announces Debut EP, “Can’t Buy a Southern Girl” Out March 17th

Alabama-based country rock artist and “Southern Girl” Donica Knight will release her debut EP, “Can’t Buy a Southern Girl” on March 17, 2016 . Her iTunes chart-topping single officially hit US radio on Monday, March 7th.

This time around, I wanted to make a record reminiscent of some of the great southern rock and country I grew up listening to; some of that Muscle Shoals vibe with horns, motown-ish background vocals, and of course, lots of rock ‘n’ roll guitars. We hope Ya’ll Dig it!!!” Donica states.

The country rock singer-songwriter burst onto the national scene with her 2013 Auburn Tigers anthem, “GreatTo Be,” which racked up over 140,000 Youtube views in 3 days of release. In 2015, Donica topped that feat with her smoldering hot video for “Love Ain’t a Prize.” The Noel Maitland-directed clip gained airplay on more than 50 national and international video outlets, reaching #1 on Y’allwire’s Most Watched Videos Chart and receiving more than 175,000 VEVO views, since its release.

This blues-tinged country rock track also debuted at #1 on the iTunes New Country Release chart, while achieving regular rotation on 100,000 watt juggernaut radio station, WBAM Bama Country in Alabama. Now, Montgomery’s “Southern Girl” Donica Knight is happy to announce the March 17, 2016 worldwide release of her highly anticipated debut EP, Can’t Buy A Southern Girl.

Can’t Buy A Southern Girl features 5 tracks, co-written by Donica, showcasing her unique blend of Southern rock, country, blues and old East Memphis music. Produced by multi-platinum songwriter and guitarist, Jim Huff, (Joe Bonamassa, Holly Brook aka Skylar Grey and 2015 Grammy nominee Dave Yaden,) throughout.
