Dave Cobb Gives Zac Brown Band Some Influential Advice

On May 12th, Grammy-Award winning Zac Brown Band will release ‘Welcome Home,’ the band’s new album and their first release on Southern Ground|Elektra Records.

Produced by Grammy-Award winning producer Dave Cobb and In The Arena Productions, and recorded at Southern Ground Nashville studio, ‘Welcome Home’ is what the band calls not only a return to their roots, but also a return to ‘The Foundation,’ the band’s debut album that is now 5X platinum.

Southern storytelling, rootsy instrumentation and the sonic swell of eight bandmates who, once again, are firing on the same cylinder,” says ‘Rolling Stone’ of Zac Brown Band’s forthcoming album, ‘Welcome Home.’

Zac Brown opens up about how producer Dave Cobb pushed the band to record “quickly, letting instinct drive each song forward,” which resulted in a “back-to-basics project” influenced by Dan Fogelberg, Jim Croce, James Taylor, and The Allman Brothers Band.

Brown put the finishing touches on ‘Welcome Home’ during recent trip to Alaska, “sitting on a glacier with a laptop and our guitars, hammering out these tunes.”
