Country’s New “It” Girl – Kacey Musgraves

‘Round and ’round and ’round it goes; where it stops… we hope it doesn’t. Country’s newest talent, Kacey Musgraves is burning up the charts and taking names right now. Her first debut album, “Same Trailer Different Park” is set to release tomorrow (March 19) and if you haven’t fallen in love with her song “Merry Go ‘Round” already be prepared to fall in love 12 times over with each track on this amazing album. Her voice is sweet, Kacey Musgraves Same Trailer Different Parkher music is soft, but damn does it pack one hell of a punch. This album is that “different” we’ve all been hoping for in country music. The type of album that has everyone asking, “Who is this?”… even your non-country friends (you know the ones who say they don’t like country but still own a pair of boots). Kacey Musgraves has a sound and a story that appeals to everyone; the Washington Post even described it as “No bells, no whistles, no throwaway lyrics — just 12 pithy sing-alongs, often beautiful, sometimes brilliant.” She’s not afraid to put everything out there and this album is definitely the most straightforward set of tracks ever written – If you don’t believe me go out and buy the album and listen to “Follow Your Arrow,” and if you still don’t believe me then there’s another song called “Stupid” that you might want to check out too.

Fans who pre-order Same Trailer Different Park will receive an instant download of Kacey’s “Follow Your Arrow.”

Only a year ago, Kacey Musgraves was named NPR’s ‘Best New Artist,’ and Rolling Stone named her single, “Merry Go’ Round,” one of the 50 Best Singles of the Year. She wrote on some songs you might have heard of like “Mama’s Broken Heart” – Miranda Lambert and “Undermine” for NBC’s Nashville. She toured with Allison Krauss, Kenny Chesney, Willie Nelson, and earned praise for her modern country-folk sound. Fast-forward to now, that sound has our full and undivided attention. Currently on tour with Eric Church and Kenny Chesney, Musgraves has also made an appearance in featured articles on major media outlets. Billboard.com began singing her praises in a recent article of the 10 Artists to Watch in 2013, and said this of the singer: “Kacey Musgraves — Her debut single “Merry Go Round,” reminds us of something that Loretta Lynn might have written had she arrived in Nashville today. It has that same earthy feel of many of the icon’s classic hits. The Sulphur Springs, TX native is definitely going to make quite an impact in 2013” … “impact” might be an understatement, considering the single has already reached GOLD certification status. USA Today also headlined “On the Verge: Country goes crazy for Kacey Musgraves” and declared her “country music’s newest ‘it’ girl.” So, it is safe to say the new girl on the block is making a huge name for herself, and she has plans to stay on everyone’s radar. Tomorrow at 7 am ET she will be performing “Merry Go ‘Round” on NBC’s TODAY to promote the release of her new album “Same Trailer Different Park.” She is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year at the upcoming ACM Awards, and will continue on tour through the end of August. If you have a chance to catch Kacey perform in a city near you – DO IT!

Kacey Musgraves is clearly already well on her way to Country Superstardom, but the best thing about her is that there is no doubt she will stay true to her style and continue to put out real music. Country, folk, soft rock, whatever she chooses to do will be incredible and fans will go ’round and ’round and ’round on the ride with her for years to come!
