Christmas Is A Busy Season For Jennifer Nettles

Jennifer-NettlesChristmas has been a busy season for Jennifer Nettles…a new album, a Christmas special and the Christmas Of Many Colors sequel have kept the country super star full of the holiday spirit this year.

New Christmas Album

Country music fans can look forward to an exciting holiday season this year. The excitement kicked off with the release of Jennifer Nettle’s new Christmas album on October 28, 2016. The album titled To Celebrate Christmas features 10 tracks including many religious favorites like “Go Tell It On the Mountain” and “O Holy Night”. Nettles sings with several country music legends on her new album including Dolly Parton, Andra Day and Idina Menzel. In order to promote the album, Nettles will be doing a three-stop promotional tour in the Southwest United States.

“CMA Country Christmas”

Jennifer Nettles also returned to Nashville, Tennessee, on November 3, 2016, where she hosted the Country Music Association’s CMA Country Christmas,  filmed at the Grand Ole Opry on November 3rd. This country music annual event helps collect toys for underprivileged children in Tennessee. Each year, in collaboration with the United States Marine Corp and Toys for Tots, the Country Music Association collects more than 5,000 toys.

As always, the 2016 edition featured some of country music’s hottest stars including Brad Paisley, Brett Eldredge, Chris Young, Kacey Musgraves, Kelly Clarkson and Rascal Flatts.

Loretta Lynn was a late addition to the exciting lineup, which marked her first public appearance since her Labor Day fall forced the cancellation of all her September tour dates. The 84-year old icon required minor surgery after the fall which occurred as she was preparing to take the stage for a performance at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

“CMA Country Christmas” at the Grand Ole Opry is a perennial favorite for many in the industry and many who enjoy watching Country’s biggest artists on its most iconic stage. If you were not able to get to Nashville to catch the show live, make sure to gather your family and watch an encore presentation TONIGHT, December 24th at 9|8 pm on ABC.

Christmas of Many Colors Sequel

Jennifer Nettles also had been busy filming Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love where she plays country music legend Dolly Parton. Nearly 16 million viewers tuned in to watch the original movie last Christmas. The original cast returns this year to tell the story of the whole family working together to buy their mother the wedding band that she always dreamed of having just before disaster strikes. Like the original, this movie is based on the true story of Dolly Parton’s life.

The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter has been keeping busy this year, releasing her critically-acclaimed sophomore album, “Playing With Fire”, joining label mates Cheap Trick for a “CMT Crossroads” that earned a CMT Music Awards nomination for ‘Performance of the Year’ AND headlining the 30 plus city “CMT Next Women of Country Tour” across the U.S. and Canada alongside Brandy Clark, Lindsey Ell, and Tara Thompson.
