Brad Paisley Reveals ‘Wheelhouse’ Album Title and Release Date

Brad Paisley stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night to perform his latest single, “Southern Comfort Zone.”  Paisley also took the opportunity to announce the title of the upcoming album, “Wheelhouse,” which is set to be released on April 9.

“It’s all about leaving your comfort zone,” said Paisley regarding the title choice. “It’s like what is my wheelhouse? You know, the baseball expression, sort of what is in your strike zone, your wheelhouse, where you’re comfortable. We really have tried to go out on a limb with this record and see how far we can stretch certain things.”

“Wheelhouse” will be the country superstar’s ninth studio album, but the first one solely produced by Paisley himself.  “We’ve got about a month left of recording,” Brad told Kimmel. “This is the first time I’ve sole produced it. It’s the first time I’ve done a record with no one there who knows how to do one. I really wanted it to be — I don’t know — special or something.”

Also on Kimmel, Paisley premiered his latest project – a parody theme song for TLC reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.  In a spoof entitled “The Ballad of Honey Boo Boo,” Paisley calls pint-sized beauty queen Alana Thompson “an American hero down to the core/She eats her meals right off of the floor.”  The full video can be seen below.
