Blake Shelton Set To Host AND Perform On ‘SNL’

Blake Shelton is no stranger to being center stage or center of attention for that matter! On January 24th he will be taking a different type of stage where few country stars have stood before. The Voice coach will host Saturday Night Live AND serve as the night’s musical guest.

Fresh off the heels of his 4th victory on The Voice, Shelton and his teammate and fellow up and coming country star, Craig Wayne Boyd, took home the victory in show’s seventh season. Season 8 of The Voice is scheduled to air February 23rd. His summer ‘Ten Times Crazier Tour’ was sold out all over the United States. In October he released his ‘Bringing Back the Sunshine’ album and topped the Billboard 200 chart in all genres. A week after topping the Billboard 200 Chart, he quickly became the first country artist to top Billboard’s Artist 100 chart. Following with an even more successful November, he won his 5th consecutive CMA Male Vocalist award as well as scoring a record-breaking 13th #1 one single with “Neon Light.”

There have been less than 40 singers in the show’s 40 year history who have had the honor of the double duty on SNL. Past country star hosts and performers include Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift and now Blake Shelton.

And I’m guaranteeing we will be receiving an hour and a half of pure entertainment from the funny man himself who will no doubt dominate the SNL stage like never before.

Will his country superstar wife Miranda Lambert make a guest appearance on the show? I’m going to guess it’s not likely as she is playing Charleston, West Virginia the same night…but I doubt she’ll miss the after party!
