Blake Shelton released his emotional new tune, “Came Here to Forget” today, March 8th. The single is the first from his upcoming album, written by Craig Wiseman and Deric Ruttan and is described as “an intimate snapshot of a couple’s encounter at a bar.”
I’ve had a lot of music over the years but I don’t think I’ve ever had a song before that’s such a direct look into my life,” Shelton said in a press release. “That’s why I’m so excited about this particular song.”
“Doing our best to make the best of the worst of it” is a line that is sure to hit a cord with his fans. The entire tune is classic flirty-sexy Shelton, but a bit more on the moody side, which is to be expected considering his break up with Miranda Lambert and relationship with Gwen Stefani.
