It looks like Blake Shelton liked it and put a ring on it. Their publicists confirm that Blake proposed to girlfriend of five years Miranda Lambert near her Oklahoma home on Sunday, May 9.
On her Twitter account, Miranda posted a photo of her with Blake just after the proposal. “Well, Ol’ Blake finally got a brain!!!…and, I didn’t say no!!” Miranda wrote.
In his usual comedic style, Blake Shelton had his own way of communicating his excitement to his Twitter followers. “So excited to be engaged to Miranda I throat punched a whooping crane and wiped with poison ivy…”
Now that’s love, Blake…we think.
2010 is shaping up to be a banner year for this couple. Blake recently picked up an ACM award for his “Hillbilly Bone” duet with Trace Adkins, while Miranda picked up the Video of the Year, Album of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year trophies that same night. She also had her first No. 1 single with “White Liar” earlier this year.
No wedding date has been announced.
