ACM Awards Open Thread

The 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards were held yesterday, and it was full of familiar faces, up-and-comers and quite a few surprises. Our gal Reba hosted. We were treated to performances from Brooks & Dunn and newcomer Laura Bell Bundy. The ubiquitous Lady Antebellum took home top honors for Vocal Group and Song of the Year (for “Need You Now”). Top male and female vocalist awards went to Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert, respectively. CMP-approved artist Luke Bryan went home with the Best New Artist award. And Carrie Underwood pulled the upset on perennial favorite T-Swift to win Entertainer of the Year for the second time in a row.

Once again, as we do with all award shows, we turn it over to you, the readers. What did you think of the ACM Awards? How’d you like Reba as a host? Do you think T-Swift got robbed? Favorite performances? Sound off here!

  1. I say faith hill dethroned shania, and carrie dethroned faith, and taylor took out carrie. Tayor should have won, I think people just don’t like that she’s so rch and so young (and that she kind if looks like a salamander).

  2. My only gripe is that Jason Aldean was nominated for NOTHING. He deserved AT LEAST Album of the Year! sigh ….
